So after our fairly calm evening on Wed, we decided to turn it up a notch for Thursday. Kinda. ;) I worked all day, and Kristy had a stressful moment or two trying to lock my front door. She finally got it worked out, and then went shopping down Magazine street. At 5:00 she met me outside work and we ran home to change....then we were off. First we walked down to Carrollton Station to find out about tickets for the show that night. The bartender said, "buy them now and they are cheaper" so we did, then we sat down and ate. The crawfish quesadialla was mighty tasty. We then grabbed a cab and went out to Saenger (most likely spelled wrong) theater to catch Gavin DeGraw in concert. Kristy LOVES him. LOVES. LOVES. wants to have his babies kinda love. Of course, so did about 99% of the teenage girls there. We had seats in row H. I hadn't really "heard" much of his music. I have heard a few songs, but never connected the name to the song. He put on a good show and I really enjoyed the music. He didn't start until 9:40 or so, and was done by 11. We thought for sure we had missed the first set at Carrollton Station. As I was told later "you should know better" yeah yeah. They hadnt even started when we got there about 11:20 or so. John, Anders and Mark put on a fantastic show. I knew lots of the songs, and danced up a storm. Highlight was definetly when Mark sang "Heaven's Moon" from the second Mulebone CD. 4:00 AM was the getting home time and here I am 6 hours later....waiting for the next 2 hours to pass so I can go to Jazz Fest. Bonerama at Tips FQ tonight with Papa Grows Funk. Solid.

Let the Madness begin
After work yesterday, while waiting for Carrie to swing by and pick me up at work, I gave Phil a call. To make sure that they had the instore covered for merch. They had decided that Donna would stay at Tower and work the mailing list, and Phil would go on the Cajun Queen to work merch for Funky Meters. I felt a bit better. Adam was going down to Tower, his first real foray since the "incident" both him and I decided that after picking up Kristy from the airport that Carrie, Kristy and I would meet up with Adam and Donna and go to Cafe Maspero's for dinner. Thinking that by the time we got there, the instore would be over. As luck would have it...Kristy called me at 6:18 and said she was just waiting for her luggage. Carrie and I had just left the house!! By the time we pulled up to the airport, Kristy was outside waiting for us. So off we went down to the quarter. We got there around 7:00, and found some free street parking a few blocks away. Adam called when we were walking down and said that they hadn't started yet. When we walked in..."Blackout" (no vocals) was blaring. I saw Roger and Elise, and Carol (whom I know from Donna's) I found Donna and started working the mailing list book with her. Most everyone signed up!! it was awesome. The guys did a "signing" of CDs afterwards. At least Mark, Craig, Matt and Bert did. The other guys had to run right after the set to other gigs. One guy, while signing the mailing list, asked if they had a record deal. "Nope, they produce all their own stuff" "Well I have a record company...." he gave me a card and said to check them out. I gave the card to Mark. After we left there, we had dinner at Cafe Masperos. I think Donna was happy to hang out with some girls for awhile!! We hung out until the boat came back, and she had to go and get Phil. That was the fun for the evening. Tonight we go to Carrollton Station to see John Gros, Mark Mullins and Anders Osborne.

Whoo I love that I can add pics now. Fun programs. Nothing fun and exciting to report from last night. Really. I showed a prospective roomie the house....then went to Adam and Carrie's to download the pics that I had taken over the weekend. Ended up hanging there for a bit...then home to attempt to watch I  Huckabees. I fell asleep. Not because it was a bad movie...I was really enjoying it. I just couldn't keep my eyes open. It was 9:30 when I fell asleep. Nice. Tonight may be more mellow then planned. Kristy isn't sure she wants to go to see John Gros play. I don't blame her, up really early in the morning to get the airport. The rest of the week...I should have SOME stories. ;)

Wet and Happy
Yes I realize how nasty that sounds. But dang thats what happened last night.
I just considered leaving my post at that. Let some of your sick and twisted minds weave your own stories. Cuz I know its WAY better than what really happened. Kinda.
I left work at 5, proudly wearing my "Got Bone" t-shirt. The looks that it attracted were quite amusing. I walked into TI, and Eric was busy helping some folks. (I haven't seen him since Thursday) When he did see me, I got a "Hi Sweetheart" then he took a look at the shirt and said "I have to have one of those shirts...take yours off right now!!" ummm Okay? ;) I told him tough luck. He made me my first drink (vanilla vodka and coke) and then had me move down to the other end of the bar, away from the door so he could smoke, and talk to me. Later he had me move down to the other end again, because one of his friends came in. We chatted a bit...and he made the drinks very strong "the way I like them" I had to have him put a bit more coke in the 3rd drink. Yes the 3rd drink. Lush speaking here. ;) He only charged me for 1 drink as well. The drinks helped when I went out to the trombone summit. It was raining. After a while I didn't really care. It would rain a bit, then stop, then rain again. I talked to Roger and Elise briefly, Roger being the gentleman held my purse as I took some pics. Too bad I think they are going to turn out to dark. 11 trombones onstage was a total musical orgasm. All those bones...of course it was nice. ;) Bonerama was awesome...Mark had some funny speaking moments, but its Mark...something about beach boys when it should have been Beethovan. Anyway. After the gig (Phil handed out necklaces and that was it) Craig told us to come around and get out of the rain. Matt and Craig want to have a float next year at MG. I made them promise to let me ride if it happens. We all took off and I went and saw Eric again....we shared some food....and chatted again. *sigh*

Sunburned and Happy
My big weekend plans had been to see Bonerama on Friday night, Leroy Jones at Donna's on Saturday. Some grocery shopping and laundry. Quiet. What did I say last weekend??? Never ever plan. I will get this down soon. Really I will.
As soon as the the bell chimed at 5:00, I yelled "Ya-badabado" and ran out the door. As soon as I got home I collapsed, for a whole 30 mins. The house was stifling hot...it was obvious that no one had been home all day. Turns out Liz had been out partying with Joan Jett the night before (not kidding) and here I had thought my sighting of Billy Idol was cool NOT!
I got to Maple Leaf around 9:30, as the Bones were gonna start at 10. Mark was there already, which was a total shocker for me. He is never that early, he is usually the last one there. I said a quick hello and then went to hang out...Phil and Donna showed up soon with new T-shirts, they are all black, the front side in white writing it says "Got Bone?" and on the back there is a purplish, pinkish, orangish, bone with Bonerama writing in the inside with the web address. I helped them find a spot to set up, and string some of the new necklaces and we chatted about what I had been doing for the guys. Phil mentioned that they were handing out beer koozies, one side says Bone Home, with the web address and the other says Porter's House and George Porter Jr.'s web address. They are free, all the people have to do to get one is sign up for the band's mailing list. He asked if I wanted to help out....I said sure...what the heck. We kind of left it at that. The Bonerama set was WAY WAY WAY to short.....but it was really killer. The place was packed to the rim, which is always nice to see. But it was hot. And I don't think I could have gotten squished up to the sound equiptment anymore. I helped Phil and Donna pack up and fight our way to the front door. After that, I decided NOT to go back in. It was crazy. PGF set was sold out and there were a ton of people milling around outside hoping to get in. I stood out there talking to Craig, Bert and Matt for awhile. Craig introduced me to a really fun guy named Eric (HA) who used to play sax with the Nightcrawlers. He had some funny stories to share. Matt and I chatted for a long time about the theater scene here in town and how he had some "ins" for me. Rock on. I decided soon after to take off and get some sleep. So 1:00 AM and I was in bed. Not bad.
Saturday rolls around and I gave Phil a call, saying if you still want my help, I am here. He called back and said "Yes please" They came and picked me up around 11ish...and away we went to the fairgrounds . I thought at first this was going to be hard, but it really wasn't. People hear the word "Free" and they go BONKERS. They also responded to either "Bonerama" or "George Porter Jr". We stayed out front for about 2 hours....gave away 300 koozies, then headed inside. Got some food, some beer and settled in at the Acura stage for a bit. Soon we headed over to the Sprint Stage and rocked out at the Meters reunion. That was freakin cool. All too soon that was over, and we headed out...we went to Port O Call for some tasty burgers (I am sorry Lisa...I am not doing this on purpose!!!!!) by that time...it was time to go to Donna's. Katja gave me a hard time about having only one beer and leaving after the second set. But I was literally starting to doze off. Paul was very funny, he came in and was saying hi to Katja, and he looked over and said "STACEY" and gave me a huge hug and kiss on the cheek. "OMG you remembered???" "Of course" HA. Total shock. So I took off early from there and was in bed at 1:30 AM. Yesterday we did it all over again....except we saw....um...oh some of Dr. John's set, Wild Magnolias, and Ingrid Lucia. Then dinner was at Cafe Degass. OMG it was yummy. Even though I had been craving Crawfish Bread.....I am pink, pink, and more pink, and can't wait for next weekend. Donna is already talking about next year. Tonight is Mo Fest, a trombone summit is at 7, and Bonerama at 8. Tomorrow night...I sleep. (I think)

*SIGH*
I am in serious "like" its bad. But I don't care. Last night I left work to go see Eric before the LMF instores. He wasn't at either side of the TI's so I contemplated going over to the big TI to see if he was there. I decided not too, don't want to be too big of a pest. I had a drink at the Papa Joe's side of TI, and about halfway through it I remembered that Eric had said he worked at 7. I didn't want to be sitting there when he got there, so I left....luckily it was almost time for Craig's set to start. I walked up to LMF and said hi to Bert and Doug, Paul introduced himself to me AGAIN. "Paul, we have met." "We have? Where?" "At Donna's, I am there almost every Saturday" "I am usually pretty loaded then, are you a musician?" "No just a fan, a "groupie" but not that kind" "I didn't realize there was any other kind" It was about that time that Billy Idol made his appearance. There were a gaggle of girls standing outside the HOB and he came out the stage door to get on his bus. The girls just started screaming, going nuts. We all kinda laughed about it. Craig said "no one screams for me that way" I said "sure they do, when you are playing" "yeah but not when we come out the stage door" "I can arrange that for you" Roger, Elise and I kept doing mock screaming every time he walked by. Billy Idol became a running joke after that. Roger, Elise and I snagged a spot right up front. Grace (Matt's mom) came in with Ben and came right up by us. Ben is the cutest little boy, he really looks like his daddy. He danced a bit with me. Craig and the guys really jammed out....they sounded awesome!!! Craig didn't wear the most "breathable" outfit and since it was hot in there, he got a little sweaty pretty fast. By the time it got to his last song "Dad's Dilemma" he pulled up all the Bonerama horns. There was a small break after that song, so Roger, Elise and I went on a beer run. By the time we got back, they had started playing. I had to sit on the ground next to the stage, got Mark and Craig spit all over me (ew) and got poked in the back by Ben alot. I think he was enjoying someone being on his level. I love, love, LOVE the Meters Melody that they have been playing lately. Last night was no exception it was HOT. Literally. Ben almost pulled off Mark's sheet music. That would have been bad. As soon as the set was over, David Fricke from Rolling Stone came up and talked to Mark and Craig. I wasn't sure if was him...but Mark confirmed later that it was. We got some new Bonerama goodies (necklaces, magnets, and stickers) chatted with the boys a bit, then I went off to find Eric. I am a sucker...I know....I walked up to where I had been earlier, and again hadn't seen him on either side. I was about to walk back to Lounge Lizards where Craig and Bert where, when I saw him working the small "to go" bar. He was helping some ladies, but when he saw me he gave me a big grin. He had me come inside and sit kinda by the bandstand....he ordered us dinner, which we shared, and we just chatted . At one point he looked at me and said "Thank you for coming to see me tonight, its made the night go by so much faster" I got a kiss on the cheek when I left. *sigh* He is going to Jazz Fest stuff today...he has the day off. I am not sure when I will see him again. Maybe tomorrow.....I don't know. We will see. But I am in serious *like*

Jazz Fest Fun
It is officially Jazz Fest time here in New Orleans. Its my first official JF as a NOLA resident. I am more than excited. The task at hand will be to get through the next two weeks without; passing out from exhuastion, passing out in general, getting arrested, having extremly sore feet, or a bad sunburn. No it won't be that bad. I am not expecting to go the the actual fest this weekend. Tonight its the instore for Bonerama and Craig's doing his solo thing right before. Tomorrow I am missing Cowboy Mouth since they play so early. :( However Bonerama is at Maple Leaf tomorrow night, opening for Papa Grows Funk, who is recording a live CD tomorrow night. (As well as Monday night) Saturday I may go to Donna's I have not yet decided. Sunday is also up in the air. Monday its another Bonerama gig out by the water....Tuesday sleep, and then Wed Kristy comes to town!! Then it will be go, go, go until Monday. We are still deciding on a few shows....I am excited because next Friday we will get off early to go to JF, and BTE is playing then. So I will at least get to see them there. All this music, I may combust. I love music. There are several, several other people I want to see. Its just that I don't have $35 to spend for each day of the fest. If I had the money when fest packages went on sale I would have been all over that. But since I am always broke...I am only going to the fairgrounds next Friday and next Sunday. Unless I find a sugar daddy. Then I am all over going every day. Crap...that means I have to find him tonight.

Dream Analysis
Yesterday kind of sucked. I am going to just chalk it up to the whole "balance of life" since Saturday was such a good day, then there was bound to be a really bad day. I thought I had had my share of bad days already, but so be it. In the great words of Fred Leblanc, I am going to "Let it go, let it go"
I did have an very interesting dream, still trying to figure that out, so when my alarm went off this morning, I wanted to keep the dream going and stay in bed. It was this weird combination for things going on. At one point, I was trying to pack because I had to move, I also had to study for some finals, and memorize some lines for a play. All in one day. Because everything was happening the next day. In my dream I actually slept. I woke up realizing that I had done everything but memorize the lines. I had no idea how I was going to do it, as I think the performance was one of the finals, I remember thinking "well I am screwed". Then as the audience was coming in, there were a bunch of Indians (feathers not dots) coming in to the theatre in full pow wow attire, and lining up for the grand entry which was another part of the theater I guess. I remember telling some of the audience members to watch out because the horses were acting kind of skittish. (okay so never once when I have been to a pow wow has a horse been a part of it) This beautiful palimino was suppose to be leading the grand entry, but he started really acting up and ended up bucking off the rider and took off running. I ran over to help the rider, who was fine for the most part, he did have a broken wrist. He asked me to help him to the infirmary. I said okay, this was a very nice looking boy, not someone I recognized, could have been a combination of past guys. The other thing that I remember was he was a white boy...not an indian. As we were walking, this blond girl kept trying to help, and he didn't want her help and he whispered "she is always trying to get in my space" somehow we lost her, and when we got outside, we were in the woods, a total campground setting. We had to try to find which path to take to get to the infirmary, he couldn't remember where his people had put their trailer. Eventually we found a phone number and I remember talking to a nurse, saying "you have to help this guy, because I need to go and take a final." And then I woke up. I wanted to keep dreaming......

*Sigh*
I hung out with Eric again last night. Yes Adam and Carrie were also there, but so was Eric. I am not sure what's with the sudden wanting to hang out with us. We got Eric when he got off work and went to One Eyed Jacks to see a really fun band called Ok Go. It was a good time...although by the time we got there we really only heard 2 songs, as it took Eric a few minutes more than he thought to get off work. Boys are confusing.
Now I am just awaiting to find out the identity of the new pope.

This was suppose to be the slow, quiet weekend
I should realize never, ever EVER to plan on having a quiet weekend. It just won't happen that way. My weekend was very very good however. Friday I was suppose to go to either a crawfish boil or to a baseball game, I ended up doing neither. I stayed at home and watched the repeat of the Apprentice on MSNBC. I got to sleep early and got a good night sleep in. Saturday I woke up pretty early, around 8:30 watched a few movies and got moving around noon. I finally got my haircut. I love haircut days. And the stylist did a pretty good job, it was a supercuts!! I decided to go on out to the quarter to do a little shopping. I really wanted to get a new purse, and they always have cute ones out at the market. I found a cute, fake (pretty sure its fake) Kate Spade purse, for only $30. Even if it is fake....its still really nice. I wandered around a bit more, and ended up going to this store called Rainbow on Canal. I was the only white girl shopping in there, and found the cutest cleavage bearing shirt, and some very cute matching shoes, for a grand total of $26.00. By that time I was getting hungry and had to go to the bathroom, so I ran to McDonalds, but the stupid token thingy was broken on the bathroom. I ate my food really fast and walked down to Harrah's to use the restroom there. I decided, what the hell, I am here, might as well play $5.00 on the slots. I sat down at a .05 slot machine and proceeded to win $35. Then the bus pulled up right when I walked up to the stop. I was having a very good day, the kind that don't come along that oftern. I ran home, changed to the cute new clothes and ran out the door to meet Adam and Carrie, who were already out and about in the Quarter. They were having drinks at Papa Joe's when I got there, the "new" TI. I hadn't seen Marti in almost a month, so it was nice to see her and chat. She made me a VERY BIG drink, eventually 3 were consumed. I think it was 3 anyway. Eric had been working on the other side of the bar, when he got off work he came out and sat with us, had a few drinks, and then he decided that we needed to go and bug Jason. So off we trekked to Funky Pirate. According to Adam the first think Jason asked/said was "I suppose Stacey has a boyfriend right now" Why do you care??? Ugh. Boys. Adam swears up and down that both Eric and Jason were fighting for my attention. I really don't think that was the case. We all then trekked down to Donna's. Eric did go with us, this was a first and I was very suprised. Donna's was extremely packed, and hot. We got there towards the end of the first set, several of the regulars asked "who is the boy?" We left part way after the second set started, after Adam and Eric ate. We went back to Funky Pirate, shots were consumed, and then things get fuzzy. I did leave Eric there, shortly after Adam and Carrie had left. He didn't want to go back to Donna's because it was so crowded and hot, and I didn't want to stay because it was just weird and akward. At least for me. Eric gave me a hug, a kiss on the cheek and called me sweetheart several times, which was nice. But I just couldn't stay....Jason was being his normally flirty self that I have told him he can't do anymore, yet he still does. I went back to Donna's and somehow ended up sitting with Bruce, Mitch, and Doug. Other people were sitting in at the time. Pretty soon the music ended, and people started to leave. Katja decided that I was just going with them, when they left, and she would feed me. We left Donna's at 5 AM. We ate, and I fell asleep on Leroy's/Katja's couch at 8:00 AM. I ended up getting home last night at 11 last night. After we all woke up, we watched a movie then went to dinner at Nine Roses again. That place is super yummy. I really don't remember much of Donna's the second trip.....other than Bob French telling me that I had to come tonight to his gig, and Paul actually talking to me. It was crazy, it was fun, and I loved every minute of it. I am NOT going to read anything into hanging out with Eric. Or Jason saying he wanted us all to go to his BBQ on Wed. nope...not gonna let myself.

Friday Fun
Today has been a good morning so far. I didn't throw the kid off the street car when he kept kicking my seat, although I really really wanted to. Its sunny, its a payday, its Friday, I was informed by two co-workers that the Fed Ex guy has a thing for me, Nicolas was JUST on the radio (WWOZ) talking about the Ascona jazz fest, he is the one that was at dinner on Sunday night, and what else? Did I say pay day? I also changed the appearance of this here blog.....trying some new things with some hosting.....its not working yet, but I will figure it out.
Oh one thing I remembered from this past weekend French Quarter Fest madness was that I saw Travis of Better Than Ezra!!! He was walking through the Coors Light Stage area during Ingrid Lucia's set, he was with his wife.....he smiled at me!! I thought for half a second that he was walking up to me, but I so imagined that....I never know who may "know" who I am anymore. I had several people tell me "I have heard your name for years" after being introduced to them. I don't know if that is a good thing or not.

Liza has fleas again. :( I blame Rudy the other cat this time. Since Adrian lets him outside, its getting warmer here, which means the fleas will be in full force and there are a ton of cats in the area. I had been kinda checking her, as I haven't given her a treatment since her surgery about a month or so ago. Last night I picked her up to give her lovins and there was a flea by her eye. I immediatly changed clothes and gave her a bath. I also bought her a flea collar. The wierd thing was my sister and I had been talking about this last week, and she was going to send me some treatment next week. I gave her a call and asked for it early. My poor baby was soooo not happy last night. She was mad because of the bath, then mad because of the collar and she totally beat the shit out of Rudy. It was like she knew too!! Finally I got her to come and cuddle. I am going to have to totally wash all my bedding again, flea bomb my room and just go crazy again. It doesn't help that Rudy is constantly in my room. I threw him out last night, since Liza was just not calming down. I guess the good news about that is Rudy will be moving out with Adrian at the end of next month. On that note, I went back and forth so many times on what to do. I was pretty much decided last night on what to do, find two new roomies. That way I could save up some money, buy a car and be a bit more mobile and flexible where I move. Right now it would have to be really close to either the bus line or the streetcar. Then this morning on the streetcar I saw two more for rent signs up within blocks of where I live. So tonight, I think I will go and check them out. If rent is reasonable, and the places are nice, I could do it. I am so wishy washy sometimes.

Slightly stressed today. I need to make a decision by the end of the weekend. Do I stay in my apartment and find 2 new roomies, or do I get my own place? I really do want my own place, however having the funds to cover deposit/pet deposit/and rent by June, well I don't know how possible that will be. I would love to find a cheaper place, and have it be my own. But I also really, really, really like where I am living now. Its a great place. The chances of finding 2 great roomies again? Its a little worriesome. but then I don't have to worry about moving right away. I think what I will do, after spending the morning looking at some ads is to spend Saturday looking at some of the places, the areas and get a feel for them. If my credit wasn't so screwed up from past mistakes I would seriously look at buying a condo, but since that is NO where near a possiblity....I am a renter. *sigh* not sure what to do.

I went home and slept almost the day away yesterday. I took some Tylenol PM around 2 yesterday, because no matter how tired I am, or sick, I can never sleep during the day. I was out from 2:30 until 6:00. I would wake up everyonce in awhile, laying a pool of drool. Seriously...that was just gross. I was awake for awhile and back asleep by 9:30 and didn't wake up until 4 AM. I then slept on and off till 6:45. I had the trippiest dreams too. Somehow I was dreaming about the Beatles. I have no idea where that came from AT ALL. Today I am feeling a bit better, however, I do have cramps on top of the cold now, fairly dizzy, and when I walk, my legs feel all stiff. I think my legs are just now realizing that I was on them for pretty much 24/7 all weekend. I forgot....Craig's youngest Claire was there on Sunday for the first set. She was a sweetheart. She wouldn't dance, but her cousin did, he was dancing up a storm with Roger and Elise. They want me to go out to dba on Thursday to see this other musician they really like Grayson Capps I believe his name is. He does an early set, so we will see. It will all depend on how I feel. I want to go out to Donna's on Saturday night because its Charlie's birthday, he owns the place. I have a feeling lots of cool musicians will be dropping by!!

Oh my jeez. I really really need to go home and get some sleep. I feel like crappola with the cold and the lack of sleep. I do have ot say it was the best weekend. I did keep pretty much a permanant buzz on so I wouldn't feel sick with the cold. It helped. However I don't think I can do that today.
Lets see Friday, as soon as it hit 5:00, I ran out of the building crying "free! free at last!!" okay maybe not yelling....but I thought about it. I walked out to the river where Bonerama was going to be playing, Mark had asked me to be there at 6:20, and since I was walking over from work, I was a little early. I grabbed a burger and a beer. After I ate, some of the guys had showed up, so I chatted with Matt, met his son Ben and his wife, talked to Bert and Brian. Soon after Mark showed up with the merch, pretty soon the fun and the madness behind the stage hit a high, and the Bones took the stage. From where I was standing next to the stage, I couldn't actually see them. So I would run over to where Kelly was standing with the boys and catch a quick glance. I do know that it was a fantastic, tight set. WAAAAAY better than the Tips show. However, I didn't get to catch much of it as I was busy selling the CDs. And that was just fine and dandy with me. I love doing that and getting to talk to so many fans, its awesome!! After the show, Mark came over and was signing CDs, most of the guys had to take off for other gigs. I counted up the dough and than ran over to the stage where the Nightcrawlers where playing. By the time I got there, they were already onstage, and I had no idea where the CDs were. Craig mentioned them at one point, but he didn't see me standing at the side of the stage, so I had to move around to stand right in front of him to get his attention. Turns out the CDs where ON the stage. I had the stage manager run up and grab some, and then we were in business. I sold about 10, which isn't fantastic but Craig was happy with it. After the show Donna and her mom came up to say hi to Craig, and they were trying to decide whether or not to go to dba to see the next Nightcrawlers set. Craig told them not to, to go get some rest, that it wasn't their kind of place. Then he looks at me and says "but Stacey is going because its her kind of place" Um what does that mean Mr. Klein??? ;) He was of course a gentleman and waited for me to finish talking to Donna and her mom, then we headed over to dba. I only stayed for the 1st set, and then took off. It was a great time, and the crowd really seemed to be into the music. How in the world they all fit on that stage, I don't know. The next morning I was up and out to Jackson Square at 11 AM to watch the Storyville Stompers. Donna and her mom showed up, after the Stompers second line we headed down Decatur and went to Fiorella's for some food, then to the Mint to listen to some Zydeco music. After lunch we headed out to Bourbon to see Leroy and Katja play. Doug Belote sat in playing drums, I think I hurt his feelings because I was so suprised to see him there. Carol and I sold all but 2 of the New Orleans Helsinki Connection CDs!!! That was awesome. Donna and her mom had left at the break to go see Craig play, so I went to go and catch up with them and saw the last half of the last song. I couldn't find Donna or her mom, but figured they were going to the back to meet Mark Braud who was playing with Craig. Apparently they had talked to him BEFORE the show. I was deemed the official Craig Klein stalker, taking the title away from Elise. Elise and her husband Roger are at all the Bonerama shows. I decided at that time to run home and change clothes then it was back out to the fest for a bit, then out to Donna's. And who should walk out....but Doug. He is playing drums for Leroy at Donna's for most of April. Very cool. It was a fun gig, but a lot of people didn't seem to be paying too much attention. Its all good. At the end of the night, I was asking Craig about the CD selling on Sunday. I said to him "Do you still need me?" His response as he gave me a giant hug was "I always need you!!" Awwww that made me feel better. I didn't want to seem like I was well...really stalking him. LOL Then I said, "So what time do you want me?" And as Donna, her mom and Craig just looked at me...I realized what I said and then added quickly "there" they started cracking up. Donna and her mom took off, and I followed shortly after. Well it was 3:30 when I got home. Back out there yesterday for Ingrid Lucia's set and part of Bucktown Allstars. I then headed out to Bourbon for Craig's fantastic set. Sold almost all of the CDs!! Craig was very happy. I also did a plug on Nola.com after the set, Craig, Leroy, Katja, Carol and I headed out the this little wine bar, just down the street on Orleans. It is actually owned by the same people who own Tropical Isle. A few random musicians came and went, including Craig. To end the night, Leroy and Katja took Carol, Nicholas (who helps organize the Ascona JF) and myself out to a great dinner. I am now just going to wait for the temp agency to call back and say they have someone then I am going to go home.

Saturday night I was sitting at the end of the bar next to Katja and Carol. It seems to be our "normal" spot now, Carol even asked where the hell I was the weekend before. Um asleep. This older man came in, I had met him about 2 weeks before. He is always very nicely dressed, suit, tie, and a hat. Oh yes and a cane, not for show but to help him walk. Okay maybe it is for show. He is in his late 70s at least, and is the sweetest sweetest man. He wears alot of bling as well. Tie clips, necklace, pins, rings, watch and usually a bracelet. The outfit is never "out" there, but very nicely put together. P.Diddy in his later years if you will. Katja had mentioned the first week that he was her tailor. I am really, really awful at remembering names, but I do know that everyone calls him "Uncle" I know there is a name after it, but all I can remember is "Uncle" The first time I met him, he was really down. Apparently there was a lot of family turmoil going on, a family member arrested, one shot, one found out they had cancer. It was a list of troubles. This time, he came in very chipper and very fiesty. I swear he licked my ear when he said hello. He even got me up to dance, I told him at the time "I can't keep up with you" He gave me a lesson in some New Orleans style dancing. I am a total white girl with no rhythm, it was amusing to watch I am sure, as Craig was cracking up on stage watching us. But it didn't matter, I was having such a great time dancing. As he left, he said to me "thank you for the dance, your one of my nieces for sure now" Now that really made my night.

I hurt my kitties feelings last night. I didn't mean too but dang was she moody. It was just about bed time, and I was lying in bed trying to get myself up to go turn off the big light. Liza jumped up on the bed and was in a playful mood, chasing everything she could. I have a few stuffed animals on the bed (leave me alone, I am a single women who needs something to snuggle) one has a tag still on it, and she was playing with that. I noticed it was one of the bears. The bears make noise. One is a Monty bear, Monty being the mascot for University of Montana (and Capitol One's mascot of the year for the second time) You squeeze the noise box in his hand and he plays the fight song. I couldn't resist, I squeezed. Liza stops chasing the tag and just stares. She then starts walking around the bear trying to find out where the sound is coming from. I squeezed the arm again. She starts meowing at it. Another bear lays close by. This one also makes noise. It is a build it bear I got one Christmas from my sister and brother in law. Its dressed in a tuxedo with a top hat and a cane. When its arm is squeezed my brother in laws voice comes out saying "My name is Harry Connick Jr and Stacey is my favorite stalker" Of course I had to squeeze that as well. She wasn't sure what all these noises were and was meowing at both the bears. I just started laughing, and laughing and laughing, the kind that makes your stomach hurt. She jumped off the bed and threw me a look over her shoulder and layed down with her back to me. Everytime I tried to say I was sorry, she would just meow over her shoulder. That made me laugh harder. She eventually forgave me and came up and snuggled until I fell asleep.

Small dilemma this morning. Nothing huge, however I will be interested to know what, if anything has been done/said.
Last night I went to bed around 10. I closed my door with little Miss Liza safely tucked into my room, Rudy (the other cat in the house was outside) I fell asleep around 10:30 or so. When I fell asleep, I was the only one in the house. I woke up around 1:30 got up and used the restroom. I noticed at that point, that both of my roommates were home, as now their doors where closed. As I stumbled back to my room, in my half asleep, no glasses on daze, I noticed part way down the hall in front of Liz's bathroom, something laying on the floor. I thought "thats odd" and went back to sleep. (Where I proceeded to have a very nice dreaming starring Mr. Zach Braff of Scrubs, yummy). This morning I got up at my normal time of 6:45, and headed for the shower. Oddly enough, someone was up and in Liz's bathroom (could have been Liz could have been her "friend" Jen) no one is ever up when I get up. I noticed what was lying on the floor in front of her bathroom. It was a lovely pile of cat puke. Nice. It wasn't there when I went to bed, with Liza in my room. So it obviously came from Rudy, who in fact came in with one of my roommates when they got home. I have my morning timed down just right, so that I am out the door by 7:25 and catch the 7:29 streetcar. I was thrown off, by either Adrian or his girlfriend getting up early as well and going into the bathroom that Adrian and I share, and got in the shower. Luckily I had grabbed my makeup and was putting that on in my room when that happened. I have learned from the past, of someone getting up early when I wasn't expecting it, being stranded without makeup/and wet hair. So today, I was able to keep my "schedule" which didn't include picking up the kitty puke. Now I normally would have done it, even though I KNEW it wasn't my cat's. Part of me feels bad for not doing it, and Liz should have to do it at all, because neither cat is hers. I am hoping that Adrian saw it and did it....but I didn't have the time this morning to mess with it, even 5 mins.

Its a Monday. Its sunny, the time has sprung forward, and I am already ready for the weekend. This weekend had some major ups and downs. Friday I didn't sleep very well. I was absorbed in watching CNN to find out if the Pope had passed away. I did fall asleep around 10, which is early for a Friday night. However I started waking up like every hour on the hour. And wouldn't be able to fall asleep again unless I turned on CNN to find out what was going on. Around 7:40 AM the cats had me up for good. Rudy, my roommates cat has taken to wanting to be in my room. Could be because that is where Liza hangs out, but also because my roommate is usually at his girlfriends. So they were playing and being really loud, and running over me. Why don't I close them out you ask? Because they sit outside the door trying to get in is why. Anyway, I finally left the house after 1:30, turns out that soon after it was announced the Pope had passed. I didn't find out till much later. We ended up going to Freret street festival. It was small and cute, and a lot of fun. We listened to a lot of bands, had some beer, and an overall good time. Later I went out to Donna's and heard the fantastic Leroy play. Craig was giving me a hard time, saying he was going to go to connick.com and post that I was yawning while they were playing. I didn't mean too....but I was tired. As I was leaving, he asked me if I would sell CDs for New Orleans Nightcrawlers on Friday night after the Bonerama show, also to sell his solo CD on Sunday. So I am now selling CDs for Bonerama, NONC, NOHC, and Craig during FQF. I can't wait!!! Its such a great way for me to meet people, and help out my friends, and show my support in a different way. The streetcar ride home took forever, as the time change happened. So the streetcar pulled up and the driver said "there will be a half hour wait so we can get back on time" um...what? I think he just wanted to stand outside and talk ot his friends. So I ended up getting home close to 5 AM. Which would have been 4 AM. So needless to say, I slept in a bit. As much as the kitties would allow anyway. I ended up going out to the Quarter and watched the "Stella" yelling contest, part of the Tennessee Williams Fest, went to the church for a few minutes, harrassed my friend Eric for a few minutes then headed home and crashed. I need to save up all energy for the coming weekend.
