So I really need to get an updated pic of Lil Liza Jane. This one was taken about two weeks after I got her. She is almost a year old, and soon...she will have been in my life for a year. If she lasts that long. Remember the saga of the birds and the apple trees? Well most of the apples are gone. The parrots have been munching on them all month. However, latetly there have been little finches in the tree, while not as noisy as the parrots, they still are eating my apples. And driving Liza INSANE. See, she is an indoor kitty. That is for several reasons, fleas are abuntant outside, the street to the park is busy, she is a mostly black cat, in a city known for Voodoo. Enough said. I will let her out on the balcony from time to time, but thats about it. She loves to look out the window in my room. My bed is right under one of the windows, and she will sit there and stare outside. The finches have been eating the apples that are right next to the window. This makes for a pleasant wake up in the morning. As Liza tries to attack them... I swear one morning she tried to jump through the glass. Most days she will sit up one her hind legs and scratch at the windows with her front paws. And meows. And bats her tail around, which usually hits me in the head at mach 500. Or so it feels. Last night as I was reading....she was doing the same routine, however it was dusk...the birds are usually done eating by then. I look out the window and perched on an apple staring at me is a little mouse. With a really really long tail. I mean the tail had to be 2 times the length of the mouse. I am now very anxious for the apples to be gone off the tree. So my cat doesn't kill herself trying to get out there.

*SIGH*
That's me now. Ready for the day to be over. All 3 big bosses are out today, and until Friday. Well actually they fly home Friday, land at 4ish. I won't see them. But it gets quiet when they are out. And for the past few days they have been keeping me busy, so that is good.
Can it be Friday now?

What the Hell
Is wrong with me today? Actually I totally know. Its PMS. It better be that, or I am in some serious ass trouble. I can't stop eating. I have almost eaten my lunch already. Its 10:24 AM, and am chowing down like I haven't eaten for days. I don't get it. Anyway. Adam is pimpin me out big time. And not just me, but Bonerama as well. Not only has he gotten that pic of Matthew and I up on his website, he also got it up at nola.com. Where I am billed as being "Matthew and friend" Lovah would have been better but thats cool. I will let it go this time. ;)

More Matthew
Just a bit more. This cracks me up to no end. If you to his website which is not the "official" one, but is the one more people go to, kinda like connick.com. In the window that is scrolling updates...look for it....its funny. A whole page on that site....bwahahahahaha. Adam did all of that. He showed me last night. I went over and hung out with Carrie and watched a movie while he was out singing. I went over after having coffee with the boy. I don't want to say to much about that whole thing...because I am not sure if its going anywhere, I am pretty sure it is. But I don't want to jinx anything right now. So until I feel better about the whole thing...he is just the boy.

Here's the Story....
Adam had run across the film set last Sunday. He actually talked to Matthew on that day. We went down there on Tuesday, Wed, and then again on Saturday. At least those are the days I went. Adam went almost everyday. He actually almost had a pic with Matthew himself on Friday (or was it Thursday) but he had forgotten his memory card at home. OOPS. We hung out for a bit on Saturday...they took a lunch break, Matthew was walking to his car, looking at a calendar. He glanced up, saw Adam, and started angling towards him. After all he had seen Adam there everyday! Then...these ladies came out of nowhere..at least that is what it seemed....they were up the street part way, across from the house they were filming at. Adam and I had been down the street, across from Matthew's car. So they came running up, "Matthew can we get a picture?" I backed away across the street at that time. He said "sure can we make it a group shot? I need to grab some lunch" He had to say this like 3 times...because they didn't want a group shot. 2 of the ladies knew each other, the 3rd didn't know them. Adam ended up taking the pic on one of the girls cameras...Matthew then drove away. Adam and I kinda came and went from the set...the last time we came back with beer. Cuz it was a damn hot day. Matthew came out and was headed to the car, and I thought "its now or never" so I asked him for a pic, and at the same time, a few people asked for autographes. He said "sure, just give me a minute, I will be right back" So he gets in his car ,and we thought they were leaving...but he got in the car to make a call, and wanted the AC. After about 15 mins....one of the assistants came and knocked on the window telling him they needed him, he got out...started heading towards the set, then motioned one minute to the assistants...he came back and crossed the street, said "did you want me to sign something?" and everyone just stood there, I shook my head, and he said "that's right you wanted a picture, I am still on my phone, is that okay?" I said yup. We took the pic, and I said "Thank you so much" and he said "Cool" And that is the tale.....

Speakin of..
So plans are kinda firming up for the big birthday. I found out today, that Bonerama IS playing. In August....the 12th. Not my birthday...and a week before Lisa and Mike get here. But they are still playing so I can't complain too much. I did also find out that Leroy will be playing at Donna's on the 20th...and Craig is also. So it looks like its Donna's that night for some fantastic music....and lots of drinks. I think that is gonna be pretty damn fun myself. Music, food, drinks, good friends. What more could you ask for???

Final Countdown
One month from today. Then my 20s go BUH-BYE. Adios. See ya later. They are OUTTA here. Which also means one month from today I have a feeling I will be just waking up, nursing a hang over and really want some food from Camilla Grill. Lisa? Wanna meet there at 2:00 on Sunday the 21st? ;) Then we can start drinking again.

Well Lookie Here
Last night, Adam, Carrie, and I stalked...I mean hung out at the movie set. Starring in the movie? Of course Sarah Jessica Parker, here is her ass:
The ever-oh-so-beautiful, my lovah, Matthew:
Terry Bradshaw, who was VERY sweet. And Cathy Bates. Or is Kathy? Anyway.
One more of Matt. ;)
After hanging out there, I went and hung out with the boy. We went to Shiloh for a drink, then to one other place on Magazine. *sigh* he is very sweet.

Its a lovely day
It really is. I started today by listening to Harry Connick Jr. first Star Turtle, then Come by Me, and now back to Star Turtle. This is my favorite of all of Harry's CDs. If fact I got a Star Turtle tattoo. Yeah, yeah freaky weird fan is what your thinking. Well the CD means alot to me...the music on it does. I can't explain it very well, but it always makes me happy. Turtle's also have a very signifigant meaning in Native American culture, so it wasn't just about Harry. Okay so there is a star on the turtle, and it has a trombone. But I figured if I am gonna get a tattoo, I want it to encompass as many things as I can. All three of my tattoos have meaning. This one is about, culture. My love of music. Harry. I even had music notes added around my ankle almost a year ago. Mark Mullins was sweet enough to give me some of his music for that. Its a song of Bonerama's. Anyway...I am sitting here jamming to Star Turtle and singing along. I think part of my good mood has to do with the boy. We were suppose to hang out Monday and Tuesday. Things have come up that have prevented it (last night it was me falling asleep) oops. But not tonight. I am very excited. I like spending time with him.

Sad
We are almost a month away from my 30th bday. I have been looking forward to this weekend/party/birthday for awhile now. Lots of people said they were coming. I shouldn't be suprised now that the numbers are dwindling. There are a few people FOR sure going to be in town. Of course Lisa and fam. Terri. Annette is coming down from Baton Rouge, as are Hank and Gayle. Adam and Carrie are gonna try to come back. And I am STILL very excited about that. Kristy may/or may not be here. We never know with her. ;) But there were some very special people. My two best friends, that I wanted to be here. Now as weird as it may sound, but they have never met each other. Vanessa is my best friend from high school. No I take that back. Jr. High. She did tell me a few months ago that she didn't think she was going to be able to afford making it down. I was really hoping that she may be able to swing it, but since I haven't heard from her in awhile, and we are close to the weekend, it doesn't look like that is gonna happen. Michelle and I met when I went back to Missoula for college. I just heard from her, and she has had some things come up, and she doesn't think she is gonna make it. Oh and my parents informed me this weekend that they more than likely WON'T be making it. So that means I have to wait for the car for a bit longer. They are thisclose to selling their house, and need to go to AZ to look for a new one and for jobs. I know I will still have fun, and I am very excited about the people that will be here. I was also just really hoping for these very special people to be part of what I consider a big birthday for me. Oh well. I will focus on the postive. The people that WILL be there. The music (no not Bonerama unless someone knows something I don't) The food. The good times.

Read Me....Read Meeeeeee
That's what my Harry Potter book is saying to me right now. Its sitting behind me. Adam picked it up at the PO yesterday, and I was reading by 6. I fell asleep at 10, but got 250 pages in of reading first. I fell asleep with the book in my hands. I got another 30 pages in on the bus. Trying to figure out how I can read now that I am at work. So in the meantime, if you haven't seen it. The nakedness that occurred at the Bonerama show. If you did see it earlier, well now you can enjoy it here too. Heh..I think its Rugalator, that Craig is singing. Shirts were still on when they did "Funky Liza" for me.

Well Hell
I had a post all typed up...pictures and everything. And the sight crashed for awhile...and I lost it all. And I am too damn tired to re-do it. So a quick re-cap. Weekend=Good. Bonerama shows=off the hook. Whenvever you get a Mark Mullins/Craig Klein vocal sandwich. Life is good. Not getting my Harry Potter book=BAAAAAAAD. I am still pissed at the post office. They didn't even knock or ring the door bell. Assholes. Just left me a slip saying they tried to deliver it. And how do I know that they didn't knock or ring the door bell? Cuz I was sitting there in the living room, and heard them deliver the mail. And I thought the book was coming from UPS. So I didn't hurry down the stairs to get the mail. All that was there was the slip saying they tried. If I had gone down right then, I would have been able to chase after the guy. *sigh* So today Adam said he would go pick it up for me. Fingers crossed that he makes it in time. He needs to come and get the slip from me, and back to the post office before they close. At 4:30. UGH.

YIPPEE!!
This may be a good day today. First of all, I had my post-op yesterday from all the laser work I had done the past two weeks on my eyes. I saw the doc for all of 5 mins and at the end he said "Get out of here, see you in 6 months" WHHHEEEEEE!!!! That means no holes in the retinas right now, and the ones that were there are closed up, and healing. And there is no detachment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy I could cry. In fact I did a little yesterday. Then last night...I cut my hair. Its now above my shoulders, almost chin length. I love it. And I totally love everyone getting off the elevator and them stopping and saying "your hair cut is SOOOO cute" You gotta love those little ego boosts. Then tonight, right after work, I am going to meet up with my friends (who just landed) and we are driving to Baton Rouge to see my boys, Bonerama. And I am taking some "Bonerama virgins" I can't wait to see them...and if they just love the band. They will. Even if they don't...there is a bar stool they can sit on. ;) I am soooo stoked. Then tomorrow, I have the day off to show my friends around, and we are going to see Bonerama again tomorrow night at Maple Leaf here in town. Okay, so I am selling merch at both shows...but I SO love doing that....getting to talk to people about my favorite band as they are playing....making the boys some $$$?? Its a good thing. At some point this weekend I am gonna have to try to read the Harry Potter book. I don't think I will get the chance until sometime on Sunday. I have a feeling I will be up all night reading.

Sleepy Time Down South
I need a nap already. Its only 9:36 AM and I need a nap. I went to bed around 11ish last night, fell asleep right away, and woke up at 12, then at 1:30, then at 2:30, and several other various incriments. So that makes for a very sleepy me. I am doing nothing tonight but reading a bit then to bed early. Must get my rest tonight and tomorrow night. Cuz then its gonna be go, go, go. I can't wait.

Survived
Dennis was a tease. At least for the folks in NOLA. Not so much for the panhandle folks. But that didn't mean that we couldn't have our hurricane parties!! Friday night, after a few beers here at the office, a group of us headed out to the Bulldog on Magazine. We sat outside and knocked back a few more. Dinner was at some mexican resturant further down Magazine. I don't remember the name. But it was good food. Saturday was spent watching the weather channel and doing laundry. My roomie invited me out to Fat Harry's. So burgers, beer and some pool went down. My roomie and I kicked ass, we killed the other team in pool. Okay...she is ALOT better than I am. And the other team kept hitting the 8 ball in. But we won. And thats what counts. right? We then headed back to our house, and played a card/drinking game. It was fun. My roomie has some cool friends. At some point..I got a "bone" call from my parents. They were having fun at the Bonerama show without me. So not fair. But it sounds like it was a good time. Donna and Phil were there. They have promised that the Bonerama site will be updated with a slide show of pics from the trip. We will see if that will happen since Phil has been talking about this since Jazz Fest.

Hurricane Party...got out of control...lying in the gutter eating tootsie rolls..
Everyone is a twitter...what to do...what to do. Some people here at work are at near panic state...others not so much. One of my bosses just wandered by saying "we are all going to fuckin die!! no really we are not" It was quite amusing. Apparently the Lt. Govenor is urging local businesses to close and let employees to go. They are doing voluntery evactuations right now. 50 hours in advance of when Dennis hits US land. We don't even freakin know if its gonna come this way. We won't know really until it gets past Cuba. Thats not until tomorrow. All this extra panic. Its annoying me in a way. Maybe because I feel a pressure to make a decision to leave the city a lot more sooner, since I don't have a car...and have to relay on the goodness of some friends. I don't want to have to make a decision until tomorrow. So what would you do?? Get the hell out of dodge...or beat all your buddies with a baseball bat? (lyrics from Cowboy Mouth's Hurricane Party)
Heat, Heat and more Heat
That is one of the many reasons I love this town. The sticky, humid, take your breath away heat. Dry heat sucks ass. Cold weather sucks ass. The weather here....now I thrive on that. It can however have some drawbacks. Not many...but some. And some people may never experience them....but oh did I ever yesterday. My way home yesterday sucked. Not only was the sun royally hurting my dilated eyes...but it was hot. And waiting for the bus by One Shell Square, where the building and sidewalk are white....literally white and the refection of the sun blinds you anyway, well it was a lot worse...luckily I had to wait only about 5 mins for the bus to pull up. It was a fairly full bus, but I found a spot all the way in the back. Now earlier in the day, on my way to the eye doctors, I had to walk part way. The storm the night before had some affect on the streetcar line, and it wasn't running. The bus that was running instead, was taking its sweet ass time. I walked from Lee Circle all the way, to well about 3 blocks maybe 4 from Touro. Its not that its a terribly long walk, its just had I known that the bus was going to take forever, I would have left earlier, and would not have had to walk so fast. And get so sweaty. So here I am at the end of the day, at the back of the bus on the way home. And I start to realize there is a funky stench. Of course, I am thinking...do I smell that bad? Can everyone smell that? Sweet jesus it seems to be getting worse. Then I realize, its not me. Its the man slightly ahead of me. Who has taken his shoes OFF!!!! Now obviously this guy does some sort of manual labor...wearing dark blue pants, and a dark blue shirt. He has most likely just gotten off work, and is trying to cool down. He has the shirt unbuttoned all the way, and I guess the next step after that was to take the shoes off to try to cool off some more. Dude, next time keep the shoes on, you almost killed me. As soon as he got off the bus, the air cleared....and I could breath again. Thank god it wasn't me.

Probably not a good idea....
To be using the computer right now. Can barely keep my eyes open. The sun is shining so bright outside...its a wonder that I got from the Docs office back to work. I think that is what is bugging me the most. Having my eyes dilated and not being able to see clearly. I had my eyes all scrunched up trying to see to get to the streetcar/bus (streetcar isn't running today but they have a bus running it its place) That gave me a headache. The procedure today was much easier...I think. It didn't hurt as bad. The purple vision lasted a bit longer....I hear my bed calling me now. I am emotionally drained. One more appointment next week so he can make sure its all good.

Ya know....
It would have been kinda nice if Tropical Storm Cindy had knocked out the power at work. Because then I could be at home, in bed, under the covers and snuggling with Liza, the sweetest kitty on the earth. She must have been nervous last night, cuz she never left my side. Alas (yes I totally just used that word) all that bitch of a storm did was keep me awake. Not because I was nervous, although I kinda was. It was more because I was fascinated with it. The wind whipping everywhere, rain pounding on the windows. I swear at times I felt like the house was rocking....but its a good solid house. I think I just convinced myself it was moving. So another night of not a lot of sleep. But you know what? I know I am not gonna be feeling in tip top shape later this afternoon. So when I get off work...and when I get home...I am popping 2 tylenol pm's and I am going to sleep. Its gonna rock. Of course, I may wake up at like 1 AM....hmmmmm

Good News
I talked to my mom this morning, she called me trying to find out more about the Bonerama show in Denver this coming Saturday night...they are going try to go. Which is cool. However as we were talking she said that they are going to come this way in August...leaving on the 20th, and they MAY be down in time for my birthday...but most likely later that week. Why will it take so long? Well they are either going to stop in TX to visit some friends, or in AK to visit my aunt..but also...because....they are...towing down..a car. for. me!!!!!!!!!!! Its a car they bought brand new in 92. So its an older car...but its a Honda Accord...and those cars last a long time...and this one has. Its gonna take a beating so to speak on the NOLA roads....but I am excited!!
Tomorrow is laser surgery on the right eye. fun. my left eye is still sore from last weeks surgery. every once in awhile I get little twinges of pain. And I have had a headache constantly since last Wed. really can't wait for tomorrow. ;)

What day is it?
I think my weekend was backwards...my relaxing day was Saturday...so in a sense a Sunday. And Sunday/Monday were my Friday/Saturday. Does that make sense? It kinda does. Kinda. Friday night was spent at Wal Mart....you know you go there for a few things and leave with a cart load of things you don't really need. Saturday I was up at freakin 6:24 AM. Couldn't sleep. My roomies alarm had been going off since 5:30 AM and it was annoying. What was even more annoying was the the fact that she wasn't home....and in my sleep haze...I couldn't find her alarm...it would shut off...I would go back to bed to do the whole process all over again 10 minutes later. I was able to figure out that the phone was alarm.....and turned it off. By then I was awake. So with about 2 hours of good sleep in me....I started the day. I managed to watch a lot of movies....and to finish part of a project I am working on. It was fairly relaxing. Went to bed early as I couldn't nap during the day. However I once again woke up several times during the night...finally getting up at like 7:30 on Sunday morning. This day was a very fun day. Carrie, Adam and I went out to Gulf Shores and Biloxi and played in the casinos, a bit on the beach, and even made a stop at the Jefferson Davis "Presidential" Library. I did pass up the possum in a can they had for sale. I am not kidding...it was for sale. Carrie and I did fairly well on the slots. We both ended up coming home with the same amount we had left houses with...so thats not too bad at all. I had found one machine that REALLY liked me...and I could have walked out $50 ahead...but I played that almost away. It was a good day filled with lots of laughter. Yesterday we went out to Treasure Chest Casino (no we aren't addicts now) to see Irma Thomas. The show was suppose to be outside, but the day before it poured on them..so they moved it all inside, and it was crowded. We didn't even make it to the casino part of the building....after she finished singing, we took off and made our way to Port O Call, which I finally ventured away from the burgers and tried a pizza....a very yummy and wonderful pizza. That place is really to die for. Its so freakin good. We then wandered down to the river area...took in the crowd waiting for the fireworks then walked up Tropical Isle to enjoy the AC and some more drinks....by the time we got back out to the river...the fireworks were moments away from going off. They were beautiful, but short. It lasted maybe 15 minutes, and we had found the perfect spot between the two barges shooting off the fireworks. I then met up with my roomie (kinda my ex roomie, she lived at the house for a month) we had a couple of drinks at d.b.a, ran into a certain musician who I didn't expect to see anytime soon....but its always good to see him. So here I am on a Tuesday. But it feels like a Monday....I am so confused.

Friday, Thank God.....
After a week of, crap, it is now a glorious Friday. I have no real plans for this evening....which is fine...sleeping in tomorrow will be fantastic. I think right now the plan is to go down to the beach...and to the casinos. I am gonna go with Adam and Carrie....not sure if we are staying overnight or coming back tomorrow. Then on Monday (a day off) the plan is going to go 4th on the river and watch the fireworks. I am looking forward to relaxing and playing. And drinking. And sleeping.
